Army ROTC is one of the largest providers of scholarships in the country, making thousands of awards to students every year.

The Army ROTC scholarship program provides financial assistance for the education and training of highly qualified and motivated young men and women who desire to be commissioned as officers in the Army after graduation from college.

SAL-report

Selection
Winners are chosen based on their academic records, SAT/ACT test results, teacher evaluations, extracurricular activities, leadership potential,a physical aptitude exam, and a personal interview.

Basic break down of scholarship selection process is the SAL report:

scholar: Are you demonstrating good acedemic standing? SAT/ACT scores? GPA? Special academic awards and achievements? As a cadet your number one priority is academics. Demonstrating good knowledge and ability to learn is essential in the US Army.

athlete: Physical fitness and discipline is very important in the Army. Are you demonstrating your athletism? Did you play organized sports? Can you play in a team?

leader: Are you a leader in your own community? What organizations are you involved in? School events that you participate in? Fraternities, clubs, volunteerism? US Army officers are not only leaders on the battlefield but also in their community, heritage and families.

Four-Year Scholarships Eligibility

You must be a U.S. Citizen
You've taken the SAT or ACT and have a minimum 920 SAT or composite of 19 ACT.
You must be at least 17 before the scholarship is effective.
You have competitive high school grades.
You participate in extracurricular and athletic activities
You must be under 27 on June 30 of the year you expect to graduate. (Veterans may be granted an age extension of up to four years.)
You agree to accept a commission in the U.S. Army.
You meet required physical standards

Three/ two year scholorships Eligibility

You must be a U.S. Citizen
You have a minimum 920 SAT or composite 19 ACT.
You have a minimum 2.5 GPA in your college courses.
You are recommended by the Professor of Military Science.
You'll be under 27 on June 30 of the year you expect to graduate. (Veterans may be granted an age extension of up to four years.)
You meet required physical standards.
